Installation instructions:
To add a new theme to your WordPress installation, follow these basic steps:
- Download the theme archive and extract the files it contains.
- Using an FTP client to access your host web server, create a directory to contain your theme in the wp-content/themes directory provided by WordPress. For example, a theme named templatextreme should be in wp-content/themes/templatextreme.
- Upload the theme files to the new directory on your host server.
- Follow the instructions on the WordPress Codex for selecting the new theme.
Make sure to read the readme file included in the theme folder. It countains all necessary instructions for a complete and proper installation of your theme.
Required plugins:
All TemplateXtreme themes make use of two plugins:
- the StickyMenu plugin: although it'll run without it, the main navigation menu only display if you install it.
- the ALEW plugin: this plugin is essential for a correct display of the layout. It's highly recommended that you install it.
Tips to set up the menu:
- Install and activate the Sticky Menu plugin
- Create a menu in the WordPress admin panel: look for the "Sticky Menus" sub-panel under "Manage".
- Make sure the Sticky Menu name in the admin panel matches the one in the theme folders.
- Check the files where the menu is called:
- If your theme displays a menu in the header, open header.php.
- If your theme displays a menu in the sidebar, open sidebar.php.
- In both cases, open footer.php.
- Look for the line where the Sticky Menu is called:
